*Laurie Zook started in the people and property business in 1998, working with individuals with personal property organization and downsizing their residences, supporting them through life transitions, assisting them with planning and expediting their moves out of long term homes. We have found through real experience, that if a potential client understands there is an objective support system available, along with their realtor, they are more likely to take the first step toward listing their home.
*Steve Berryman co-founded OPS, and has been a key architect in developing EstateMax. His principal concerns are in outreach and promotion for both companies. Steve has enjoyed a 37 year career in retail and wholesale sales, plus management, and has been a manufacturers representative and professional construction estimator. His previous senior management positions have been with Target, The Sports Authority, and Montgomery ward, plus commercial construction bidding and estimating with Office Walls & Ceilings, Inc.
*Our client’s heartily provide reviews on our performance. Since we began the review process in 2013, EM maintains an AAAAA rating. In fact, in a recent review we were credited by a client’s son with “perhaps saving his mother’s life.” This, the result of taking a large and complex job, turning a broad range of goods into ready-cash, removing all of the burden and heartache from from an elderly client.

*Unlike several newcomers in the so-called estate sale business, who provide no more than online auctions, we don’t “cherry pick” the best stuff! We sell the largest percentage of our client’s goods in their property at the highest reasonable pricing, to the largest potential set of qualified buyers. What doesn’t sell is donated or consigned for future sale.
*We also provide EstateMAX Re-sale On-line auctions of consigned goods for clients faced with circumstances making on site estate sales impossible.
*Our specialties include 1) identification, organization, research, and valuation of the price of estate sale goods- assuring the highest incidence of selling during the course of the scheduled sale, onsite, through our progressive markdown system, and online through auction format .
2) In-depth marketing and advertising through multiple, reliable formats to drive the largest group of qualified buyers through a sale.
*Experience is the best teacher. Principals Laurie Zook and Steven R. Berryman personally design and manage each estate sale project, and have 70 years of combined requisite professional knowledge to perform the above.
*EstateMax provides no-cost consultations and in-person interviews with all qualified clients. We will recommend the most effective sales method, time-frame, and timeline in which to maximize results and will pursue a project only as deemed in the client’s best-interest.
*Once a contract is signed, the planning process begins. EM selects key items to feature in ads, which are photographed and marketed in secondary web-platforms as appropriate. After the sortation and staging, a preliminary video is taken of the household.
EstateMax.net has an active blog, our own YouTube Channel, a large customer email list, two Facebook pages, and we crosspost videos and our own ads to the best estate sale sites. We use strategic street-directional signage, and produce print ads as apropos.
After the sale, our team empties the site of unsold goods, relegating to charity on our client’s behalf, and leave the property clean, ready for updating, staging and listing. We provide receipts for the goods to clients for their tax purposes.
As a distinct bonus to our customers, we have our own retail liquidation warehouse; “Other People’s Stuff” in Frederick, MD, aka O.P.S. and hold special sales for items that remained unsold. We split the results as a consignment arrangement that continues paying-off for our clients months after a sale!
The EstateMAX staging service retains pieces from the client’s home prior to the estate sale, as appropriate, and from the vast offerings at O.P.S. to optimize the home interior under budget, working with the real estate professional, as needed, completing the staging on schedule following the sale.
